Ministries

Spiritual Growth Group

Each Sunday 9:30–10:15am interested adults meet to learn about and discuss the fundamentals of the Christian faith and to examine what the Bible teaches.

Childcare is provided during our worship services, as well as Sunday School classes for ages 4 through 5th grade. This is a safe and warm environment where your children will have fun and learn about the love of Jesus in the care of teachers who are committed to the task of encouraging the spiritual growth of your children. In addition, we have a Middle/High School class which meets before the service from 9:30 to 10:15 AM.

Community Groups

Our community groups meet weekly in homes for a time of fellowship, study, prayer and fun. The focus is on providing an opportunity for people to connect in a closer way and support each other as we all seek to grow spiritually. For more information, contact tomfrech@verizon.net.

Women

We offer a women’s Bible study which meets weekly on Wednesdays at 9:30am (with childcare) and 7pm. We welcome you to come at whichever time is most convenient for you. We also enjoy times of fellowship and prayer. For information, contact suefrech@verizon.net.

Men

A group of men of all ages meets at the church every other Saturday morning from 7:15 – 9am for Bible study, prayer and fellowship. Donuts and coffee are provided! For information, contact tomfrech@verizon.net.

Care and Concern

A group of the women in the church have committed to support any person or family going through a time of sickness or other stress by providing meals and supplying other needs when they arise.

From May through October, we have Gateway Get-Togethers right after the service, for all ages. The church provides hamburgers, hot dogs and grilled chicken with all the fixings, as well as beverages. Those who attend are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. When the weather is good, we set up a moon bounce and have outdoor activities, such as soccer, volleyball or football. When it’s cold or raining, we have indoor activities, such as board games and Wii.

During the colder months, we host periodic free family-friendly Movie and Discussion events, which include lunch or dinner.

In mid-December, we hold our unique Many Joys of Christmas, where we get together to wrap gifts that our members have bought to be taken to families we support in the local area through Mason-Dixon Community Services. We enjoy this time of service and celebration in the midst of the busy holiday season.

Always, the community where we are located is invited to our events and we are always looking for places where we can connect with the people around us and put hands and feet on the message of Christ’s gospel.

Missions

We participate in worldwide missions by financially supporting:

Jon and Danielle Snyder, who work with Mission to El Salvador in San Salvador, the capital city of El Salvador. In addition to financial support, we collect donations of school and medical supplies and clothing for their ministries to orphans, the homeless, those dealing with addictions, and victims of human trafficking.

Mr. and Mrs. L., serving in a sensitive area, ministering in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural community.

Matthew and Maggie Loftus, serving as medical missionaries with Pioneers in South Sudan.

Mission to North America Disaster Relief Fund: When the need arises, we send money to support those affected by all manner of natural disasters all over the world.

We also are involved in the following local missions:

Mt. Clare Christian School in Baltimore city: We offer financial support to this inner-city school which serves under-privileged children.

Helping Up Mission: We financially support this ministry that helps men who are dealing with homelessness and/or addictions in inner-city Baltimore.

Young Life Harford County: We currently offer financial support to staff with Young Life in Harford County.

Prayer Ministries

Kingdom Prayer Time: Once a month we meet after the service for a time of prayer, asking God to lead us as we seek to serve him as he advances his kingdom in our lives, in the ministry of our church, in the area around us and beyond. All are welcome to join us or to send prayer requests to us via email or Facebook.

24-Hour Prayer Event: Twice a year, the weekend before Thanksgiving and the weekend before Easter, we set aside 24 hours to pray for the spiritually needy of our church, our community and the world. We collect prayer requests for the month before the event. Again, you are welcome to join us or send prayer requests.
